When I want to defrag my Harddisk to maintain my computer performance, suddenly a box showed with a text “Disk Defragmenter could not start”. What happen with my defragmenter? It’s most caused by installing third-party defragmenter such as Defraggler and Diskeeper and uninstall it. It’ll unistall the standard Windows Disk Defragmenter too. To solve this problem you must re-install the disk defragmenter. There are two ways to do this. The first way is open Command Prompt which can be found in Start – Programs – Accesories – Command Prompt. Type cd windows\system32 and press Enter. You’ll directed to C: Windows\system32, and you must register the defragmenter by type this regsvr32 dfrgsnap.dll and press Enter and then type this regsvr32 dfrgui.dll and press Enter again.
If the derfagmenter doesn’t works the there is still one way to do. First open My Computer and open C: Windows\inf. In this case you may find this folder hidden and you must click options and select folder options and check the “show hidden files and folders”. After open up this folder you must search for a file named dfrg.inf and right click and select install. That’s all what you can do today. If the defragmenter still not works, you may find another way in the next moment at this site.
