Extend the Life of Your Laptop When You Find Duplicate Mp3 Files

November 1st, 2009 admin 7 comments

With the ever-changing world of computer technology, one might think people are always rushing out to buy new computers. But for many people, it’s just not possible or financially viable to buy a new computer as soon as updated features before available. You might be one of these people. In order to help extend the life of your laptop, for example, there are a variety of things you can do. And you can start by taking the time to find duplicate mp3 files and getting them off your computer.

Why Worry about Duplicate mp3 Files?

Look around your house right now. If you added four more pieces of furniture to your living room, it would be more different to get around, wouldn’t it? This is what happens when you have too many files on a computer. As you ‘ask’ your computer to complete tasks for you, those extra files get in the way and begin to slow the computer’s system down. When there are fewer duplicate mp3 files, then your computer can run more smoothly.

Why find duplicate mp3 files? These are also those files which you don’t have to hold onto anyway. They are duplicates, after all, that you may have collected because you couldn’t the originals for some reason. But once they are removed, you will not miss them because you do not need them. And if you begin to create a better system of organization, you won’t have troubles with duplicate files ever again.

How to Remove Duplicate mp3 Files

Many people avoid getting rid of duplicate mp3 files because they simply don’t have the time to scour their computer to find them. This removal of files can be time-consuming, especially when you don’t already have a system of labeling or filing in place. If you do not find duplicate mp3 files, you will need to look through each and every folder on your computer in order to find duplicates, then delete one of these files.

Or you might want to invest in a piece of software which will identify and find duplicate mp3 files which you can then remove. By taking on the tedious tasks of finding those duplicate files, you can focus on deleting those you do not need – a far easier thing to do. This software is easy to install and to use, which is a helpful thing to consider when you aren’t a computer expert. But notice that the software can only find duplicate mp3 files, not remove them from your drive. That is something you need to do on your own.

In the future, you will want to remember that the more you put on a computer, the less efficiently it will run – thus making its life span much shorter. When you find duplicate mp3 files, you will begin to notice your computer running faster. Take some time today to remove as many files on your computer’s hard drive as possible and you might be able to wait for your next upgrade.

2. Click Font icon (Classic Style View)
3. Choose the font that rarely used by holding Ctrl button and clicking them
4. Create another folder and move the files out to that folder

Disable Last Access Mark

March 25th, 2009 admin 1 comment

In standard setting, everytime Windows XP read a file, it will create a timestamp on the file. This feature is useful for backup needs, but actually the backup just need the last access date. This feature makes Windows XP works harder because everytime Windows read a file, it must write the timestamp too.
For a normal usage, this feature isn’t important. For a faster Windows XP, I recommend you to turn off this feature by the following steps :

1. Click Start
2. Choose Programs
3. Choose Accesories
4. Choose Command Prompt
5. Type down a command : FSUTIL behavior set disablelastaccess 1
6. Press Enter
7. Restart your computer

Now, there is no more delays when you open a file. Subscribe for this blog if you don’t want miss a thing!
