Games reshaped itself seeing the revolunization in the gaming industry. The taste of childrens and elders are changing as per the competing demands in our society. People used to took games as a manual part of one’s life and making it a reason for showing oneself healthy. People used to go in fields waiting for the day to come and then organizing the cricket or any other kind of games. But all this scenario has changed now . Now no one has time for all this. Competitive life style and the eager of leading a qualitative life has vanished the importance of games in people.

The facets of games has saturated in pcs and laptops. Now no one either think of wasting one time on games as they prefer to opt electrical based games so much such as nintendo games
which is right now most preferrable among its users in the market. People opting these types of games bec aue of other reasons also suc h as it saves energy and time along with making them more creative and innovative. Kids are becoming more skilfull on pc systems than the earlier kids through games as one can avail cartoons, kids games, and playing cd games on the pc system. It do have advantages also as such games enhancing the personality of children as per the requirement of the demand of the market. As per parents concern such games are quite beneficial as it doesn’t allow their kids to become more shabby personally and socially.

there are several games avialable in the market such as pumpkin push, club penguin, sketch star, obama alien, graveyard shift, spineworld, disc pool, eight ball pool, halloween games etc. Each games are lying on hum an concept of delivering some kind of certain messages among users. Users of such games may be of any class of as per age, as these games are quite entertaining. Childrens are basically scarred of ghosts but one such game is halloween games which helps in kids to differentiate bad and good parts of human tendency. These games play electrically and mechanically depend on the type of the games the producer wants to launch in the market. But people find it disadvantageous also as it might effect fitness, socially and financially and most probably making the kids more inactive. People will not prefer then field work related to homes and offices as they will get more habituated to such games. Nothing is wrong in using but over the limit may cause the prescence of that thing in one’s life.

The hugely popular Play Station Portable (PSP) handheld game console manufactured by Sony, which was launched in 2004, had sold more than 52 million pieces by the beginning of May 2009. The success of its marketing campaign can be judged by the fact that it had initially trailed Nintendo in the total quantities sold for the first 3 years after launch, but picked up after that and now leads in market share.

What many people are unaware of is that there have been a number of controversies regarding Sony’s promotional campaigns to increase market share of this, one of their most prestigious products and a big profit earner. Some of the issues related to the PSP advertising campaign are listed below:

?A online guerrilla marketing campaign for the PSP console to try and go viral in December 2006 by the Zipatoni advertising firm of St. Louis in the US put Sony under a lot of scrutiny for unfair trade practices. The firm had got advertisers to pretend to be young bloggers desperate to get themselves a console by any means possible. The blogging and related sites were traced back to the advertising agency and then back to Sony.

?Earlier the same year, Sony released an ad in the Netherlands showing a white woman supposedly intimidating a black woman, with the message that ‘PlayStation White is coming’. Apparently Sony was trying to convey that the consoles were available in these 2 colours. This particular image was considered in bad taste because of its racial overtones and implied threat. While 2 other images with the same participants were also released, these were not so controversial as one showed the black woman dominating over the white woman and the second had the two women facing each other, seemingly about to start a fight. All these ads were removed after the controversy erupted in July 2006 in that country and they were never released elsewhere in the world.

?A PSP poster campaign in the UK had one design with the slogan ‘Take a running jump here’, When these were put up in a Manchester Piccadilly tram station, the posters were asked to be removed as authorities considered that it might suggest suicide to those who were so inclined. This controversy happened in 2006.

?Sony had hired graffiti artists to spray paint PSP advertisement on walls across San Francisco, New York City and Philadelphia towards the end of 2005. Philadelphia’s mayor had filed a ‘cease and desist’ order against Sony and threatened further legal action, including a criminal case. Sony admitted the charges but said it was paying owners of the buildings as well as businesses for using their walls as advertisement space.

Although the above examples may seem minor controversies, it reveals to what extent Sony felt pressure to ensure the full and unhindered success of the Play Station Portable. Having achieved that, the controversial campaigns also seem to have tapered off. In all likelihood it would have been the local branches / franchisees who would have implemented these campaigns.

Sony’s Play Station Portable (PSP) was launched with its own set of exclusive games
. However, over time, many PlayStation games were re-released for downloading and playing on the PSP. There are currently 3 ways that this can be done; using a PC as an intermediary, directly connecting the PSP to the internet or through the PlayStation Network service. Commercial PSP game demos
can be downloaded directly onto a memory stick and booted from there or given as promotional content in UMD format to customers.

The PlayStation Store is Sony’s virtual market for the PSP and offers downloadable content online, a few of which are free of cost while the others have to be purchased. These include full games, themes, add-on content and playable demos. Going by the 170 million plus downloads till the middle of 2008, this site is a very popular means of getting content for the over 52 million units of PSP that had been sold till earlier this year.

One of the upcoming video games for the PSP is taken from a very popular TV series called ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ and is expected to be released in November 2009. The game is named ‘SpongeBob’s Truth or Square’.

The plot revolves around SpongeBob losing the recipe to keep Mr. Krabs Krabby Patty formula, which had been given to him for safe keeping in preparation for Krusty Krab’s Eleventy Seventh anniversary. SpongeBob takes the help of Plankton even though the latter is known to want the secret recipe for his own use. Normally these two characters don’t get on well together. So, SpongeBob’s other friends help him to use the memory machine that Plankton has, to go back and remember the fate of the Krabby Patty formula.

In the game as played out on the PSP, SpongeBob can become an Explosive Canon to aim at and hit the bad guys. Other options are to make him into Sledgehammer Smash to stun the opposition or turn him into WaterBob Sponge, who stuns the intruders by spewing liquid. The game looks at ‘the 10 happiest moments of SpongeBob’s life’ taken from the animated TV serial and players are able to remember their own favourite moments from it. In multi player action one can play Planktons character while the other does SpongeBob. Some of the story elements are totally hilarious!

This video game is based on the TV serial’s 10th anniversary and will follow the earlier game released on PSP, which was ‘SpongeBob SquarePants: The Yellow Avenger’ and also ‘Underpants Slam!’ which was released for Xbox.

As with other games released on PSP, this too is expected to be a best seller, based on the fact that the original TV serial itself has a great fan following – and not just among kids! It can easily make the Greatest Hits range of budget titles that Sony CEA had announced back in 2006, the first lot being released that same year. The Greatest Hits line-up includes games that have sold more than 250,000 copies.
