Fix the Windows Setup problems

Windows XP has quickly become one the most popular computer operating systems on the planet! So we’re going to show you how to effectively Repair Windows XP below!

One of the best features of Windows XP is the built in repair feature!

In previous versions of Windows, repairing an operating system error usually meant formatting and reinstalling the whole operating system, resulting in loss of all of your precious data. The Windows XP repair feature won’t delete your data, already installed programs, personal information or Windows settings. It just repairs the operating system…

It may be necessary to reactivate your Windows XP as well. Why would you ever want to reinstall Windows XP?

1. Can’t start Windows XP in safe mode.

2. You have problems caused by a recently installed system update (Windows Update, hotfix, Windows XP service pack, or Microsoft Internet Explorer update).

Repair Windows XP Installation: Step-by-step:

1: Make certain there are no known hardware issues. Windows Repair will ONLY fix software problems. 2: Make Sure & Backup You’re Data. 3: Boot from your Windows XP CD. Insert the Windows XP CD into your computer’s CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and then restart your computer. When the “Press any key to boot from CD” message appears on the screen, press a key to start your computer from the Windows XP CD.

4: A blue screen will appear and begin loading Windows XP Setup from the CD.

Select “To set up Windows XP now, press ENTER”. Next, Windows Setup will find existing Windows XP installations. You will be asked to repair an existing XP installation, or install a fresh copy of Windows XP.

Note: If you install a fresh copy, all data on that partition will be lost!

Sometimes, when you upgrade your Windows operating system, the hard drive is automatically formatted with FAT (File Allocation Table) file system and all of the data stored on the drive get lost. This situation generally occurs in dual-boot system. This behavior of Microsoft Windows renders all of your mission critical data inaccessible and cause serious data loss. At this point, you are required to methodically scan the affected hard drive and opt for Windows Data Recovery to retrieve lost data from Windows hard drive.

In a practical situation, if you’ve NT-based version of Microsoft Windows installed on first primary partition that is formatted as NTFS (New Technology File System), and you select to format the partition as NTFS file system during setup to begin with clean partition, Windows setup process will format the drive as FAT, copy files from CD and try to reboot system in GUI mode to continue installation. “DISK READ ERROR occurred.”

If you run ChkDsk on affected Windows drive, you will encounter following error message:

Root of the problem

Earlier Windows NT kernel format the partition using FAT file system and then convert the file system to NTFS on final re-boot after installation. If you reformat the boot partition using NTFS file system, setup writes 16 sector boot area on freshly formatted FAT drive after file copy operation completes.

In order to sort out such issue, Windows Data Recovery is required. This is best possible using advanced third-party applications, known as Windows Data Recovery Software. Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery is the best ever made and the most powerful application for successful recovery. It supports recovery from FAT32, VFAT, NTFS and NTFS5 file system partitions. The software is designed for Microsoft Windows 7 RC1, Vista, 2003, XP and 2000.
